Biography

Evelyn (Yao) Fu is a graduate student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis, where she began her studies in Fall 2024 and expects to graduate in 2026. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Ecological Engineering from Dalian University of Technology, China, in 2023. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research in catalytic materials and air quality modeling, experiences that built her foundation in environmental systems analysis. Her motivation comes from an interest in improving the efficiency of water and energy use through practical engineering solutions. At UC Davis, her research focuses on modeling zero-liquid-discharge (ZLD) systems, particularly mechanical vapor recompression (MVR). Outside of research, Evelyn enjoys playing badminton and cooking.
