Biography

Haoxin is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at UC Davis, having joined the program in September 2024. Before coming to Davis, he gained hands-on experience through a three-month internship at a municipal wastewater treatment plant in Beijing, where he learned practical methods for treating domestic wastewater. Motivated by a deep interest in water treatment and water safety, he is eager to contribute meaningfully to advancing sustainable solutions in this field.

At UC Davis, Haoxin is working on a research project that investigates how polymer membranes are affected by chlorine contamination, with a focus on understanding changes in their properties and performance. This research has important applications for seawater desalination, where polymer membranes play a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient freshwater production.
Outside of research, he enjoys hiking and visiting museums, appreciating both the natural beauty and cultural experiences available in the region. Among the many charms of Davis, he especially enjoys the lively presence of squirrels and wild turkeys that can be spotted around campus and the community.
