Biography
Minsoo Kim is a Master’s student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He earned his bachelor’s degree in the same field in South Korea in 2012 and has worked as a civil engineer at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) since then.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a construction engineer at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates. Over time, his work shifted toward coastal engineering and groundwater management at nuclear power plant sites, which sparked his interest in groundwater and soil contamination. He is especially interested in how contaminants move through the subsurface and how they can be effectively removed or managed.
Outside of research, Minsoo enjoys traveling, playing baseball with his son, and taking care of a small garden at home.
